The unmissable silk pillowcase brand vs

Silk products are famous all over the world, and there are many well-known brands on the market (for example, slip, Lilysilk, Blissy's silk pillowcase). There are many other silk brands, just look at the website itself description of beauty is very complicated, if you want to buy a good quality pillowcase, you can only place an order to see the real thing to compare, otherwise it is difficult to identify the information of the business by us. So it's super important to choose a reliable brand so as to save a lot of time and money. After all, the price of silk bedding is not cheap, and it's too rare to find good quality at a good price!

ROSELILYS silk bedding is a well-known brand in the silk industry. Firstly, it is one of the top 10 silk home textile brands in the list.

The product I'm reviewing is a 22mm silk sham pillowcase set (Queen size) which is available for $269 on the website.

The packaging is a relatively simple bag, which is perfectly fine for personal use, but if you have a gift request it would be much more appropriate to have a gift wrapping option.

Before we get into the details of the major brands, let's clarify a few common questions about silk bedding

Q1: Why should I choose silk bedding?

Honestly, some of the various benefits of silk bedding mentioned on the internet are indeed exaggerated, such as moisturizing the skin, UV protection, stain absorption and anti-bacterial, and spot removal.

However, there are three benefits that I have really experienced for years and I can assure you of their effectiveness.

Good for your skin, good for your hair

Silk has a smooth surface which is very silky to the touch and has the smallest coefficient of friction of any natural fibre at 7.4%, which prevents excessive rubbing of the skin when sleeping, so if you like to change positions over and over again when sleeping, remember this (unless you sleep flat all night).

The biggest effect of reduced friction is of course: anti-wrinkle, which delays the production of wrinkles.

The effect is cumulative, think about it, we spend 1/3 of our lives in bed, so the friction between the skin and the bedding is reduced over this long period of time, and wrinkles are delayed! The more you sleep, the more you are squeezed out of your eyes.

Similarly, less friction on the hair will reduce hair loss. Although I still lose hair every time I comb and wash my hair, I haven't seen any of my hair shed on my bed or pillow in a long time!

Alleviates skin allergies

Silk's silk glue content has the ability to prevent the growth of mites and mould, making it even more beneficial for allergy sufferers. Since using silk pillowcases I have never had a red mark, whether my skin is allergic or not. I used to change my cotton pillowcases at least every three days, otherwise my skin would be prone to allergies in autumn. The same goes for my skin, as I have chronic hives and often can't stop scratching my back in the middle of the night if the material of my pyjamas isn't comfortable enough.

Improves sleep quality

The natural fibres in silk have the highest silk volume gap. It reduces heat transfer when it's cold, keeping you warmer than cotton, and discharges excess heat when it's hot, keeping the temperature inside your pillow and quilt comfortable. That's what we love most, warm in winter and cool in summer!

Anyone who has had insomnia will know exactly what it's like to be plagued by worries/thoughts/excitement/sadness late at night when you can't sleep.

Q2: How do I choose a good silk bedding?

You can look out for these two descriptions when choosing a silk product!

Silk is often expressed in terms of Momme

It is the main unit of measurement for the texture of the fabric, similar to the concept of the count of a shirt, the larger the number, the more silk per unit area, the thicker and denser the silk, the better the quality, the heavier the fabric and of course the more expensive. Generally 19m or more is considered heavy weight, and heavy weight silk fabrics are extremely difficult to scratch, and are also guaranteed to be of good quality while being smooth, which is the reason why people like heavy weight fabrics.

Pajamas are generally available in 16 or 19mm, which is breathable, comfortable and easy to wear. 19mm or more is suitable for bedding and other items, as the sheets need to be changed frequently and the whole weight of the person is pressed on them, so a higher thickness will be more durable.

Products marked with mulberry silk are of better quality

Because mulberry silk is real silk, but real silk is not necessarily mulberry silk.Silk is generally referred to as silk, and silk includes mulberry silk, sericulture silk, castor silk, cassava silk and so on. The varieties of silk vary depending on the species of silkworms or cocoons, and silkworms are mainly divided into two categories: domestic and wild silkworms.

The domestic silkworm is fed on mulberry leaves and is also known as the mulberry silkworm. The silk made from the cocoons of the mulberry silkworm is called mulberry silk, and because it is kept indoors, it is also called house silk. The silk fabric made from mulberry silk is of the best quality and is the most representative of silk.

There are several species of wild silkworms, including the Quercus sericea, the Castor silkworm, the Sky silkworm, the Camphor silkworm and the Willow silkworm, some of which can be reared outdoors, and the feed they eat varies.

The silk bedding is ready to meet you!

The zip on the pillowcase is very practical, so you don't have to worry about the pillow being exposed when you sleep, and it also fits better with the pillow, don't look at this small zip design, many brands don't bother to add it to save costs!

My bed is Queen size and the ROSELILYS silk sheet and pillowcases are very standard Queen size, there is even a lot of space, they are even longer than my cotton shams, even if you are sleeping on a thicker mattress you don't have to worry at all! You know that one extra centimetre of silk is a lot more.

The silk bedspread is lightly cool when you first sleep on it, and it slowly warms up with your body temperature when you cover it with a quilt. Although we're not used to sleeping naked, we can't help but feel the silky touch of my silk bedspread again and again, even when I'm wearing my pyjamas, my hands and feet.

The silk bedding I have used the most for the longest time is the pillowcase, I have tried many before and after, so I can take it out and compare!

Slip silk pillowcases

100% Muberry Silk, the pillowcases are basically 22 mm silk, a very high profile silk brand product with new styles and often updated patterns.

Pros: beautifully packaged and a very decent gift. The pillowcase is designed with a zip, the silk is smooth to the touch, the fabric is more wrinkle resistant and less likely to crease, and because the shine is not obvious it is not as obvious when it gets dirty.

Cons: Compared to the T, it is also 22mm but the fabric is a little thinner and less glossy. Only available in Queen/King sizes. Very poor value for money.

Price: $59 Queen size

Mulberrypark silk pillowcases

Pros: more product details

Cons: The texture of the 19 mm is really far off, don't underestimate the mms number, it's more than a cut above regardless of feel and appearance. There is no zip design and the 22 mm is relatively expensive.

Price: 19 mms 29$ / 22 mms 59$

ROSELILYS 22 mm silk pillowcase

ROSELILYS's silk pillowcases are the best value for money of any brand!

Pros: the gloss is very nice, the product selection is simply great, solid colours are available in 19/22 mms, ten colours, a variety of sizes to choose from, and the non-pure colour pattern styles are also particularly good looking! The quality is really good for the price!

Cons: Because it's pure silk, it's easy to get marks if you get oil on it! Those who want to buy ROSELILYS are in luck! Not only is ROSELILYS better value for money, there are so many more colours to choose from!

Whether it's a pillowcase, sheet or a 3-piece or 4-piece set, the price difference between 19m and 22momme silk is not very big.

Q3. How to wash and care for silk bedding

Finally, let's talk about how to wash and care for silk bedding. You must not wash your silk in the same way we wash our normal clothes, as this will ruin the softness of the silk and will make it wrinkled, unsmooth and darker. The best way is definitely to send it for dry cleaning.

Then it is hand wash and finally machine wash (must be delicate)

The detergent must be for silk! Do not use alkaline detergents and soaps, wash inside out, do not soak for more than 5 minutes, choose a ventilated and cool place to dry after washing, avoid direct sunlight! Do not dry in a tumble dryer! This will avoid damaging the feel and colour of the silk.

Finally, I've come to the end of this post and I declare that I am now officially a thxsilk fan! I don't have to pick and choose which brand of silk bedding to buy from now on... thxsilk's prices and quality make me very happy! Her pajamas and duvet covers are already in my next purchase plan.
